Nature, slow but shore

Over half the world’s turtle and tortoise species are now threatened with extinction. Loss of habitat is the biggest threat to turtles and tortoises globally. Branding non-profits can be some of the most satisfying work in our industry. But branding a turtle non-profit — it's about as cool as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and we get to help protect turtles. The Turtle Rescue of the Hamptons had a problem. Their brand didn’t live up to their name or their mission. The Agency heeded the call and explored a new visual brand identity, colors, and application to branded materials.

We selected various colorways that represented the variant ecosystems turtles call home. It was important that the words “Turtle Rescue” spoke to the audience with the “T” sticking out a bit further than the “R” to represent a curious turtle’s head and neck extending to explore the nature around him. The simple exploration of a turtle that could face all directions at once represents the turtle rescue’s wide variety of turtles and the bio-diverse locations they support. It also represents humans coming together around an injured turtle to rescue our hard-shelled friends.
